Past 10am, on a cold and frosty morning...

Ben Hess performs the 5th Suite in C Minor by J.S.Bach scordatura (literally Italian for "mistuning") with the A string tuned down to a G. The recording was made (yes, in the morning!) in Sussex UK on 12th January 2011, thanks to George Robertson.

Ben is playing his "other" cello, thought to be French and just over 100 years old, though unlabelled. Here is a link to the second movement, "Allemande":
